### How to use it

- Paste your text into the top box.
- Type the word to find and what to replace it with. Leave Replace with empty to delete every match.
- Check the count, then press Copy.

### Options that prevent mistakes

- Match case replaces Apple but not apple.

- Whole words replaces cat but leaves category alone.

- Regular expression treats the search as a pattern, for when the thing to find changes each time.

Type \n in Replace with for a new line and \t for a tab, with or without regular expressions.

### Find and replace in apps

Most apps have it on Ctrl + H: Word, Google Docs, Notepad, VS Code and Excel. On a Mac it is usually ⌘ + ⌥ + F. This page is for text that lives somewhere without it: a chat, a form, a CMS field or an email.

Paste the text, type the word in Find and the new word in Replace with. Every match is replaced; turn on Whole words so parts of longer words stay untouched.

How do I delete a word from a whole text?

Type it in Find and leave Replace with empty. Every match is removed.

Can I replace with a new line?

Yes. Type \n in Replace with for a new line, or \t for a tab.
