### How title case works here

Title Case capitalizes every word except short ones that style guides keep lower: a, an, and, as, at, but, by, for, in, of, on, or, the, to. The first word is always capitalized. If you want every word capitalized, pick Capitalized Case.

### Changing case without this page

In Word, select text and press Shift + F3 to cycle through lower, UPPER and Capitalized. Google Docs has Format › Text › Capitalization. Excel uses the formulas =UPPER(), =LOWER() and =PROPER(). None of them do sentence case or the programming cases, which is where this tool helps.

How do I change uppercase to lowercase?

Paste the text and click lower case, or Sentence case to keep capitals at the start of each sentence. Then copy the result.

What is the shortcut to change case in Word?

Select the text and press Shift + F3. Each press cycles through lower case, UPPER CASE and Capitalized Each Word.

What is the difference between title case and sentence case?

How do I fix text typed with Caps Lock on?
