Quick answers
How do I install ClipTen?
ClipTen is launching soon. Once it’s out: download it for Mac or Windows from clipten.com and open it. Sign in with your browser to connect your account to the app. On a Mac, allow ClipTen in Accessibility settings when it asks. Then start saving and pasting.
Do I need an account?
Yes, a free one with your email. You sign in with your browser to start your free trial and keep your licence. Your account never holds anything you copy.
How do I save to a slot?
Hold ⌘ on a Mac or Ctrl on Windows, press C, then tap a number from 1 to 0. Keep holding the whole time.
How do I paste from a slot?
Hold ⌘ or Ctrl, press V, then tap the slot’s number.
Will it break normal copy, paste, or ⌘1?
No. Plain copy and paste work exactly as before, and ⌘1 or Ctrl+1 still switches browser tabs. ClipTen only acts when copy or paste and a number happen in one held motion.
Nothing gets saved when I tap a number.
Keep ⌘ or Ctrl held down through C and the number. If you let go in between, ClipTen steps aside so your normal shortcuts keep working.
On a Mac, ClipTen does nothing at all.
ClipTen needs Accessibility permission to notice its shortcuts. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, switch ClipTen on, then quit and reopen it.
On Windows, another app already uses Ctrl+V + a number.
Paste with Ctrl+Shift+number instead. ClipTen’s Health screen tells you when this is needed.
Pasting into an app run as administrator doesn’t work.
Windows blocks normal apps from typing into elevated windows. It’s a Windows security rule, not a bug.
The ClipTen window is blank on Windows.
The window needs Microsoft Edge WebView2, which comes with Windows 11 and up-to-date Windows 10. Install the WebView2 Runtime from Microsoft if it’s missing. The tray menu keeps working without it.
ClipTen doesn’t start after a restart.
Mac: System Settings → General → Login Items, add ClipTen. Windows: Settings → Apps → Startup, turn ClipTen on.
What can I put in a slot?
Text, links, pictures and files, even many files at once. Up to 16 MB per slot. Slots survive a restart.
A password didn’t get saved.
That’s on purpose. When a password manager marks a copy as secret, ClipTen skips it.
How do I erase everything?
Open ClipTen and choose Clear All Slots.
How do I report a bug?
Open ClipTen and choose
Settings → Report a bug, or use the button at the top of this page. A confirmed bug earns a free Lifetime licence. See the
reward terms.
