ClipTen Best clipboard manager for Mac Maccy alternative
Maccy alternative for Windows and Mac
Maccy is light, free and loved. If you need it on Windows, on an older Mac, or with keys that stay put, ClipTen is the one to try.
Quick answer
Checked October 2026 by the founderClipTen is a Maccy alternative that pastes by number. You choose the number while you copy, and it stays there until you replace it. Nothing shifts when you copy something new.
- Save⌘+C+3Your copy now lives on key 3.
- Paste⌘+V+3Pasted, in any app, as often as you like.
Works on macOS 10.15 and later, and on Windows 10 and 11 with Ctrl.
We make ClipTen, and Maccy is a great free app. Facts about Maccy come from its own site and README, checked in October 2026.
The difference in one example
In Maccy, you press ⇧+⌘+C to open your history, then pick an item or press its number. The numbers follow your newest copies, so item 1 changes every time you copy something.
In ClipTen, you copy your email address with ⌘+C+1. From then on ⌘+V+1 pastes it, today and next week, whatever else you copy in between.

Where ClipTen fits better
- It runs on Windows. Maccy is Mac only. ClipTen uses the same keys on both, with Ctrl on a PC.
- It runs on older Macs. ClipTen works on macOS 10.15 and later; Maccy needs 14 Sonoma.
- Keys you can trust. Your hand learns where things live, and they never move.
- No window. You paste without looking away from your work.
Where Maccy still wins
- It is free for everything.
- It remembers all you copied, with fast search.
Plenty of people keep both: Maccy to look back, ClipTen for the things they paste every day.
