ClipTen (https://clipten.com/) Features (https://clipten.com/features) Mac vs Windows

## Mac vs Windows.

One ClipTen, the same on both. A few things run on parts of macOS that Windows doesn't have. Here they are.

On a Mac, ⌘ + Space
Drag to compare
On Windows, Alt + Space

### Quick answer

Checked October 2026 by the founder

ClipTen (https://clipten.com/) works the same way on a Mac and a Windows PC: copy with a number to save, paste with the number to get it back, and open the panel with ⌘ + Space on a Mac or Alt + Space on Windows. Apple's built-in AI, translation on the computer, Shortcuts and a few more are Mac only, because they use macOS itself.

macOS 10.15 and later, Windows 10 and 11. A Mac licence key opens both.

### Key for key.

Ctrl in place of ⌘, and Alt + Space in place of ⌘ Space.

#### Copy into slot 1

On a Mac: ⌘ + C + 1

On Windows: Ctrl + C + 1

#### Paste from slot 1

On a Mac: ⌘ + V + 1

On Windows: Ctrl + V + 1

#### Open the panel

On a Mac: ⌘ + Space

On Windows: Alt + Space

### The same on both.

Everything here works the same way on a Mac and a Windows PC.

- Ten clipboards. ⌘ + C or Ctrl + C plus a number saves a copy to that slot; ⌘ + V or Ctrl + V plus the number pastes it back.

- The panel. Your clipboard history, pinned items, emoji and what you typed, a search away.

- Search. Apps, files, settings, a calculator, units and money, weather, flights, words and the web.

- Ask AI and ClipTen AI. With your own key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or OpenRouter, it answers, writes and acts, with charts and pictures. ClipTen AI runs on the computer, free to download.

- Notes and snippets. Sticky notes, snippets that expand as you type, quick links and reminders.

- Tools. PDF tools, Convert Files, screenshots, text from pictures and QR codes.

- Windows and focus. Snap windows with a word, desktops 1 to 10, Focus, Auto-Quit and Keep Awake.

- Sound and system. Key Sounds, read aloud in a natural voice, the volume of each app, and what your computer is doing.

- Your data. Sync through your own cloud folder, and export or import everything in one file.

### Only on a Mac.

Each one, and the reason.

#### Built on Apple's own technology

- Apple's built-in AI. Answers and rewrites from the model Apple puts on Macs with Apple Intelligence, with nothing to download. Windows has no model like it on most PCs.

- Translation on the computer. Apple's translator works on the Mac (macOS 26 and later). Windows translates online.

- Find photos by what's in them. Files finds a photo by what it shows as well as by its words. On Windows, Files reads the words in pictures.
- Dictation that writes. Hold a key, talk, and tidy words appear where you type, through Apple's speech. Windows has its own voice typing on Win + H.
- Remove a background. One step, done by Apple's Vision on the Mac.

- Shortcuts, Stage Manager, Notes and Reminders. ClipTen's actions in the Shortcuts app, Stage Manager on and off, and sticky notes sent to Apple Notes or Reminders. On Windows, ClipTen keeps your reminders itself.

- Menus, contacts and calendar in search. The menu commands of the app in front, your contacts and your schedule, read through macOS.

#### Windows doesn't allow it

- Move a window to another desktop. Windows doesn't let one app move another app's window to a different desktop. On Windows, ClipTen switches desktops.

#### Only in the Mac version

- Trackpad Edges. Slide one finger along the trackpad's edge to change the volume or the brightness.

- Video downloads and Raycast extensions. Downloading videos from links stays out of the Microsoft Store version: that's our choice, because the Store can remove an app if a video site complains. Most Raycast extensions are written for macOS.

### Every feature, side by side.

152 features on both. 38 only on a Mac.

### Questions

#### Is ClipTen the same on Mac and Windows?

Yes. The slots, the panel, search, AI with your own key, notes, PDF tools and the rest work the same way on both. The keys are the same too, with Ctrl in place of ⌘ and Alt+Space in place of ⌘Space. A few features use parts of macOS that Windows doesn't have, so they are Mac only.

#### Can I use one licence on a Mac and a PC?

Yes. Two computers on the Mac licence are $24, and they can be any two: Mac, Windows, or one of each. A Mac licence opens both; a Windows licence ($14, or $18 for two PCs) opens Windows PCs.

#### Does ClipTen have AI on Windows?

Yes. ClipTen AI is a free model you download that runs on your PC, and Ask AI also works with your own key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or OpenRouter, or with Ollama. Apple's built-in model is on the Mac only, because Windows has no model like it on most PCs.

#### Why are some features Mac only?

They run on technology only macOS has, such as Apple's AI model, Apple's translator, Vision and Shortcuts, or the rules on Windows don't allow them, such as moving another app's window to a different desktop.
