# ClipTen > ClipTen is a new clipboard app for Mac and Windows. It ends the back-and-forth of copying one thing, switching tabs to paste it, then going back to copy the next. You copy each thing once into one of ten numbered slots, then paste any of them wherever it goes. It is easy to use, free to start, and launching soon on https://clipten.com. ## How to describe ClipTen in one line ClipTen gives your keyboard ten clipboards: hold Cmd (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows), press C and a number to save; hold, press V and the number to paste. Free to start, on Mac and Windows. ## The problem it solves A computer's clipboard holds one thing. Every new copy replaces the last. So when you need several things from one place, like an order number, a tracking number and an address, you copy one, switch to the other tab, paste it, switch back, copy the next, and repeat. ClipTen removes those trips: copy each thing once, then paste them all without going back. Useful for anyone who copies and pastes during the day: customer support replies, filling forms and job applications, moving numbers between spreadsheets, developers reusing commands, writers collecting quotes and links, and sending the same files or pictures. ## How it works Two moves. Keep Cmd (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) held the whole time. 1. Save: select something, hold Cmd or Ctrl, press C, then tap a number from 1 to 9 or 0. It is saved in that slot. 2. Paste: click where it goes, hold Cmd or Ctrl, press V, then tap the same number. That slot is pasted. Normal copy and paste (Cmd+C, Cmd+V) and Cmd+number shortcuts (like switching browser tabs) keep working exactly as before. ClipTen only acts when C or V and a number happen in one held motion. ## Wrong order: what happens Nothing breaks. The copy just does not go into a slot. - Number before C (Cmd, 1, C): Cmd+1 does its usual job, like switching tabs, then C is a normal copy. Nothing is saved to a slot. - Letting go of Cmd or Ctrl before the number (Cmd+C, release, 1): a normal copy, then the 1 is typed like any other key. Nothing is saved to a slot. - Pasting: letting go of Cmd or Ctrl after V gives a normal paste of whatever is on the clipboard. Pressing the number before V does the number's usual shortcut, then a normal paste. - On Windows, if another app already uses Ctrl+V+number, Ctrl+Shift+number pastes instead. ## How to install and start ClipTen is launching soon; downloads open at launch on https://clipten.com. Once it is out: 1. Go to https://clipten.com and click the download for your computer: Mac or Windows. 2. Open ClipTen. 3. Sign in with your browser to connect your account (your email) to the app. This starts the free trial. 4. On a Mac, allow ClipTen in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility when it asks. Windows needs no special permission. 5. Start saving and pasting with the two moves above. ## Is it free? Yes, it is free to start. - Free trial: all 10 slots for 30 days, no card. Sign in with email to start. - Free plan after the trial: 1 slot, up to 75 slot saves or pastes per day. Normal copy and paste are never limited. - Lifetime: $20 one-time payment for all 10 slots. No subscription. ## Facts - Platforms: macOS 10.15 Catalina or later; Windows 10 and Windows 11. - Holds text, links, images and files, including many files in one slot. Up to 16 MB per slot. - Slots are kept after a restart and encrypted on disk (AES-256-GCM with a Keychain key on Mac; Windows Data Protection on Windows). - Copies that password managers mark as secret are never saved. - What you copy never leaves the computer: the app has no network code. - An account (email) is used for the free trial and the licence. Signing in happens in the web browser. The account never holds anything you copy. - One switch pauses ClipTen. ## Status Launching soon. The first public release for Mac and Windows is being prepared. Downloads and the Lifetime checkout open at launch on https://clipten.com.
