## Flycut alternative for Mac and Windows

Flycut is a free, open-source clipboard manager for Mac. If you want it on Windows too, or number keys that stay put, ClipTen is the one to try.

### Quick answer

Checked October 2026 by the founder

ClipTen (https://clipten.com/) is a Flycut alternative that pastes by number. You choose the number while you copy, and it stays there until you replace it. Nothing shifts when you copy something new.

- Save ⌘ + C + 3 Your copy now lives on key 3.
- Paste ⌘ + V + 3 Pasted, in any app, as often as you like.

Works on macOS 10.15 and later, and on Windows 10 and 11 with Ctrl.

We make ClipTen, and Flycut is a great free tool. Facts about Flycut come from its GitHub page, checked in October 2026.

### The difference in one example

In Flycut, you open a small window with a hotkey and move through your recent clippings with the keyboard. What sits at the top is always your newest copy, so the order changes every time you copy something.

In ClipTen, you copy your email address with ⌘ + C + 1. From then on ⌘ + V + 1 pastes it, today and next week, whatever else you copy in between.

### The clip panel, for everything else

Pasting by number needs no window. When you do want to look back, press ⌘ + Space or ⌥ + Space on a Mac, Alt + Space or Ctrl + Space on Windows. One panel opens with every copy to search, plus your slots, emoji, files and notes.

- Search your History and filter by Text, Links, Images, Files or Colours. History keeps 24 hours free, 7 days with all 10 (up to 12 months).

- Paste fast. ⇧ + ↵ pastes plain text, and ⌘ + 1 to ⌘ + 9 (Ctrl on Windows) pastes the top nine.

- Pin, edit and add notes, copy text out of images, and fix text before you paste: UPPER, lower, Title Case, trim spaces, join lines, format JSON, remove tracking.

- 1,900+ emoji with skin tones, drag any copy into any app, or share it to Gmail, WhatsApp, Telegram, X or Outlook.

The clipboard panel is free; the full one comes with everything for $20, once. Every feature → (https://clipten.com/features)

### Where ClipTen fits better

- It runs on Windows. Flycut is Mac only. ClipTen uses the same keys on both, with Ctrl on a PC.

- More than a clipboard. The same panel finds apps, files, answers and windows, and types what you say.

- Keys you can trust. Your hand learns where things live, and they never move.

- No window to paste. ⌘ + V + a number pastes without looking away. The clip panel opens only when you want it.

### Where Flycut still wins

- It is free for everything.

- Built for developers. Flycut is made with coders in mind, and its source is open for anyone to read.

Plenty of people keep both: Flycut for a quick look at recent copies, ClipTen for the things they paste every day.
